Save time when using this food strainer. It is quick, easy and processes food with no electricity. Homesteaders will love using it.
As summer is winding down, the garden tomatoes are ripening with great speed. I like to eat a few fresh and juicy from the vine. But the rest, I prefer saucing to enjoy throughout the year.
I especially like pulling out a jar of processed tomatoes once the weather turns cold. There is just something about the joy and nourishment that comes from doing it yourself. And, my favorite recipe to make using all of these tomatoes is creamy tomato soup. It has become my preferred comfort food on cold days.
But I couldn’t have done this so effortlessly without the Victorio Food Strainer/Sauce Maker. It quickly turns tomatoes into beautiful puree with just the turn of the handle.
TOP 5 REASONS YOU SHOULD USE A VICTORIO FOOD STRAINER
After using a Victorio food strainer for years, I will share with you my top reasons for loving this food processing gadget. Check out the Victorio food strainer here.
PROCESS FOOD AT PEAK FRESHNESS
This is so important for retaining the tomatoes nutrients. Being able to put the tomatoes through this strainer as soon after picking as you can, mean a fresher end product that is much healthier for you. You can now make foods fresh from your garden or farm market without additives and chemicals.
IT IS QUICK AND EASY TO USE
It clamps onto kitchen table just like the old meat grinders did in days gone by. Setting it up is simple and straight forward not to mention it all goes together quickly.
NO ELECTRICITY NEEDED
Off-grid homesteaders will love that this is operated with man power alone. Since no electricity is required processing of food can still get accomplished during power outages and when the grid goes down.
NO PRIOR FOOD PREPARATIONS REQUIRED
This handy kitchen workhorse does all the hard work for you. It takes the peels off the tomatoes and it also removes the seeds, sending them out the waste spout. No more standing for long hours to blanch tomatoes, pop the skins off and cut the seeds out. The sauce, or pulp will collect in a bowl away from the waste spout.
CHILDREN APPROVE THIS FOOD STRAINER
Even young children can now help out. This is a great way to get them involved and educate them on where their food comes from and the necessary steps taken to preserve the bounty. My grandchildren enthusiastically love to help me when it is time to process tomatoes in the food strainer.
OTHER USES
It comes with one standard screen used for saucing tomatoes and apples. There are four additional attachments that allow flexibility in processing. The three screens and one spiral can be purchased separately. They are:
Berry Screen (very fine) for removing tiny seeds in raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, etc. This screen is ideal for making jams, jellies and pie filling.
Pumpkin Screen (coarse) has slightly larger holes than the standard tomato/apple screen that comes with the food strainer. This screen is used for processing pumpkin, squash and potatoes.
Salsa Screen (extra coarse) has the largest holes of all of the screens. It is used for recipes with a chunky desired outcome such as salsa.
Grape Spiral (short spiral) is a shorter spiral than the one that comes with the food strainer. It is used to process grapes or any produce that contain large seeds and thicker skins. The grape spiral is best used inside the standard Apple/Tomato screen.
Make sauce and puree quickly and efficiently using the Victorio Food Strainer and its attachments. Enjoy the process and begin eating clean today.
