Stress is becoming more common with the rising uncertainty of the world. Learn, how you can use a few essential oils to lower stress in your life right now.
I just love the ease and simplicity essential oils offer. And yes, I can completely understand if you feel overwhelmed at first. I was once in that same place of confusion myself.
However, with just a few essential oils you can begin making your own blends like the Citrus Lover’s Anxiety Inhaler or the Deep Acting Stress Relief. I like to think of them as stress relief in a bottle.
They are so easy to make and convenient to use. They work gently with the body and are very effective in elevating mood and easing anxiety and depression.
Make these little gems part of your stress relief kit. You won’t be disappointed.
WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils are the volatile compounds found in plants. They combine well with other oils and carrier oils but separate when combined with water. This means they are not water soluble.
When essential oils are added to water the oils float on the surface. This means that when you use them in this way, you will be getting all of the essential oils first followed by all of the water instead of a mixture of the two. This could have a potential negative effect.
Essential oils come from the various parts of the plant such as flowers, leaves, needles, roots, and petals. The most widely used form of turning plant matter into an essential oil is through steam distillation.
To get an idea of how much plant matter is needed for just one small bottle of essential oil, think of thirty pounds of lavender flowers to fill one 15 ml bottle.
PURCHASING ESSENTIAL OILS
When you are ready to purchase your essential oils use a trusted company. To determine a reputable company, ask to see the GC/MS report of the oils you are interested in. This report shows how much the oil has been diluted or made impure.
Sourcing is also an important factor to determine the quality of the essential oil. Contact the company for their report on sourcing and quality standards.
USEFUL ESSENTIAL OILS FOR STRESS AND ANXIETY
There are several essential oils that have proven themselves over time. They help when you are feeling stressed out and when anxiety is welling up inside. They are known to also boost mood, improve mental clarity and have a calming effect. Each recipe packs a powerful punch.
If you would like to extend the benefit of this therapeutic aroma, consider purchasing a diffuser. A few drops of essential oil blend and some water will give you hours of stress relief.
The first recipe, Citrus Lover’s Anxiety Inhaler, is from Dr Eric Zielinski’s book The Healing Power of Essential Oils.
