1.High fats and low carbs
Learning this secret blew my mind. I was one who grew up believing what was said, that fat makes you fat. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. Fats are the optimum fuel source for your body. They actually make the body work harder and as a result you benefit through weight loss.
2.Portion control
Eating too much is something we are all guilty of and it can happen even when we are eating our healthiest. Out of control portions will wreak havoc or your weight loss efforts. So, be conscious of serving sizes and stay within those guidelines.
3.Mini fasting (24 hrs)
I have never been fond of going without food but I must say this wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. For two non-consecutive days you would skip breakfast and lunch and eat a light dinner. This meant no eating from dinner the night before to a light dinner the following day. However, during this 24-hour fasting window I did consume four to five mugs of chicken bone broth. It was both comforting and satiating. Unsweetened black coffee or herbal tea could also be consumed during this window.
4.Healthy organic food and bone broth
Fresh or frozen organic fruits and veggies that have a naturally low sugar level make wonderful shakes and large salads. Pastured/organic eggs, ghee or grass fed butter, grass fed and finished beef, high fat fish such as salmon. Homemade or even store-bought bone broth if you can find it with only organic chicken stock and flavorings is loaded with collagen and is a must for restoring gut health and diminishing belly fat.
