If you are like me, you don’t have time to be sick. In my mind there just isn’t a right time for sickness. No matter when it happens, my calendar is full with work, fun and family. Learn the three best ways you can boost immunity naturally.
I hate side stepping the normal rhythms of daily life to suffer with the symptoms of a head and chest cold. Sleep becomes difficult, breathing becomes difficult, taste buds are out of whack and food doesn’t taste good. Swallowing is difficult often painful and as a result grumpiness takes center stage. Heck, sometimes I don’t even want to be with me.
Nature though, has a way of balancing everything and it doesn’t take your schedule into consideration. When time isn’t taken to slow down and smell the roses, nature steps in to help you by creating an illness, forcing you to slow down.
If this sounds familiar read my 3 top ways to boost your immunity.
Cod Liver Oil
is rich in vitamin D, known as the sunshine vitamin. A deficiency in this vitamin will create illness. Our body creates vitamin D with the help of the sun. When the sun is lacking in many regions during the fall and winter months, our vitamin D levels drop.
There are also omega 3 fatty acids in this oil which help reduce depression making this especially useful during the dark and gloomy months of fall and winter.
Just 1 teaspoon daily (October – April) of this light and flavored oil taken with food to prevent it being repeated on you is all that is needed. I mistakenly got unflavored once and it did taste awful, so do remember to get it flavored. My favorite is lemon.heal
Sufficient sleep
is so important for optimum functioning and health. An adult should preferably receive 9 hours each night.
Sleep must be in complete and total darkness to keep an optimum immune system, allow for proper hormone cycles to occur and for the repair process to take place in the body.
Vitamin C
helps with your immune system by supporting and improving white blood cell function. Under stress and disease you need more of this vitamin. During the winter months this dosage can be increased up to 2000mg per day for adults, or to bowel tolerance.
EsterC is the less acidic alternative, easier on the stomach and offers the same protection as straight ascorbic acid found in vitamin C.
Boost immunity by being proactive against the common winter illnesses. After all it is your best defense.
